Micon Cinemas

Micon Cinemas has been serving the Chippewa Valley since 2004 when owners Mike and Connie Olson established their first theatre in Chippewa Falls. Since then, their son, Dan Olson, has joined as co-owner making it a truly family-owned business. Shorly after opening their first theater in Chippewa, Micon Cinemas opened 2 additional theatres in Eau Claire, including the Downtown Cinema located at 315 South Barstow Street and their theatre located at 3109 Mall Drive.

Micon Cinemas Downtown (Temporarily Closed)

From specialty pizzas, appetizers, desserts, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, classic movie theater concessions, as well as vegan options, there’s something for every palate!

Micon Cinemas Oakwood Mall

Micon Cinemas Oakwood Mall offers movie goers the nostalgia of the 1990s Oakwood Mall. Built in 1986 and opened as a six plex, the Micon Oakwood has gone thru 40 years of movie history but retains the charm of the 1990s. The movie theater occupies the six screens that were added in the early 1990s. This location was originally managed by Mike Olson (now owner of Micon Cinemas). Mike left the Oakwood Mall theater in 2003 but has returned to his roots and has owned this location since 2022. The auditoriums feature original stadium seating and tivoli lighting. Everything at Micon Oakwood is considered classic. The theatre features new films as well as independent and art movies. The menu is expanding and now features pizzas and other food items as well as a wine and beer bar. On the other side we feature Verse Immersive and a rental auditorium for gaming and movie rentals. This venue is evolving and offers a great spot for mall patrons and those love nostalgia. If you love movies you need to check it out!

Giving Back to the Community

Each year Micon Cinemas hosts over 50 events striving to give back to their local community as much as possible, raising thousands of dollars since opening their doors in 2004. Organizations who have partnered with Micon include: The Community Table, Chippewa Falls Emergency Services Department, Pink Ribbon Boutique, and more.
